Swaged fork terminal (clevis end)

Pressed fork end with pin, slides over a plate or lug for a clean pinned joint.

A swaged fork terminal has an open U-shaped jaw pressed onto the wire rope, closed by a clevis pin and a split pin. The jaw slides over a corner plate, a welded lug or the eye of another fitting, and the pin locks it. This gives a direct, flat connection without a shackle, so the corner stays compact and lines up with the cable. Fork ends are widely used where a cable meets a plate on a membrane corner, a mast head or a ground anchor.

Also called fork end, clevis terminal, swage fork, jaw terminal

Where it is used

  • Pinning a cable directly to a membrane corner plate

Questions about this part

How do I choose the fork size for my plate?

The jaw opening must fit the plate thickness and the pin must fit the plate hole. Send the rope diameter, plate thickness and hole size, or a photo of the old part, and we match it.

Fork or eye terminal?

Use a fork when the cable goes onto a single plate or lug. Use an eye when it goes into a fork, a shackle or between two plates.
