The U tension hook is our best-selling fitting. It is a galvanized round bar bent into a long U, with both legs threaded near the top. The legs pass through the steel pin: a short, thick steel bar or tube with two holes, laid across the top. A washer and hex nut on each leg tighten it. The fabric edge or corner, punched or fitted with eyelets, is held at the pin, and tightening the two nuts pulls the fabric tight. Our hooks carry a small FABRICO stamp on the bend. What is the steel pin for?

The steel pin is the short, thick steel bar or tube with two holes that sits across the top of the U. Both threaded legs pass through it, the fabric is held at it, and tightening the two nuts pulls the fabric tight evenly from both legs.

U tension hook or U-bolt set: what is the difference?

A U-bolt set clamps fittings around a post. The U tension hook is a longer U with a steel pin across its legs, made to hold the fabric edge and tension it.
