Wire cup

Holds the cable end at the corner of a membrane so the nut can pull it tight.

A wire cup is the short steel fitting at a shade corner that receives the end of the edge cable. It is fixed to the corner plate or welded to the steel, the cable's threaded end passes through it, and the nut bears against the cup to draw the cable tight. The cup keeps the cable end seated and in line with the fabric edge, so the corner can be tensioned evenly. It is one of the most used parts in Saudi shade work, on car parks, schools and homes alike.

Also called cable cup, cable end cup, cable lug tube

Questions about this part

Do I need new wire cups when I change the fabric?

Not always. If the cups are straight, not cracked and the cable end still seats well, they can stay. Send photos and we advise.

Painted, galvanized or stainless wire cup?

Painted or galvanized steel is the common, economical choice when the cup is welded to painted steel. Stainless suits visible stainless corners and wet or coastal sites.
